v1.2 — Easier Setup & Progress Controls
Released
This update simplifies vocabulary setup and adds more control over quiz sessions and saved study records.
Vocabulary setup
- The built-in N1 list now uses fixed word, reading, and English meaning columns, with no manual column selection needed.
- Custom CSV column selections are grouped under Adjust columns. This section opens automatically when required selections are missing or invalid.
- Completely empty, unnamed spreadsheet columns no longer appear in the column dropdowns. Columns containing data remain available, even without a header.
- Saved custom vocabulary lists are correctly labelled as selected files rather than built-in files.
Quiz sessions & tracking records
- Added Reset session to restart the current quiz while keeping previous attempts in tracking records and session history.
- Added Manage records on My progress, with controls to reset a session or Clear tracking records.
- Clearing records removes word scores, session history, and the current session for the selected vocabulary list in this browser. Other vocabulary lists and preferences are kept.
- Both actions ask for confirmation. A storage error is shown if saved records cannot be cleared.
Interface improvements
- Renamed CSV order to Original order throughout the quiz interface. Questions still follow the vocabulary list's order.
- Renamed Quiz settings to End quiz to clarify that it ends the session and returns to setup.
- Added the current version and a Release notes button to the footer on all three pages.
- Release notes open in a panel that slides in from the right, with Close, Escape, and outside-click dismissal, plus reduced-motion support.
- Aligned Manage records with My progress on desktop and mobile, and simplified the release panel's Close button.
Local preview
- The development server now accepts LAN connections and prints available network addresses for testing on another device.
